Hello 2019, let’s be friends. Yes, Lets.

Unlike last year, I am going to make some positive goals for 2019. Not resolutions, goals. I’m not going to give myself any unrealistic expectations like losing a bajillion stone, learn to play the violin or save £10,000 in two months. I’m going to set out goals that I’ve been thinking about for a while, that I know will benefit myself and my environment.

  • Make a serious conscious effort to reduce the amount of non-recyclable/re-usable waste I produce.
  • Accurately separate my recycling waste instead of winging it.
  • Take my kitchen compost out to the compost bin more regularly.
  • Walk out of a room and turn the light out.
  • Take tote bags with me when I get loose groceries.
  • Get loose groceries.
  • Always try to have a reusable bag in my handbag in case of emergencies.
  • Look for products that come in glass containers.
  • Always try to buy a tin of produce i.e. tomatoes, beans, chickpeas etc.
  • Try to buy clothing second hand if at all.
  • Try to buy homewares from charity shops and second hand if at all.
  • Say no to more things often.
  • Say yes to things you might instinctively say no to.
  • Save money for a trip to Amsterdam
  • Pay off a huge chunk of my student overdraft.
  • Stay joined to the gym.
  • Continue Slimming World and be successful.
  • Secure more paid freelance writing work
  • Wear more bold and red lipstick
