I was scanning the makeup aisle in Tesco, looking for a cheap concealer as I had run out completely. I saw the Rimmel London Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer* on offer and thought, why not? I use a foundation by Rimmel and have had previous successes with other ranges.
I immediately noticed the packaging and I wasn’t that excited. Makeup, like food, is first consumed with the eyes. It needs to look like something you want. I particularly don’t like the BREATHABLE slapped on the front. It doesn’t flow with the rest of the branding and at first, I thought it was a sticker.
The applicator sponge reminds me very much of the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer. The sponge does make it great for touch-ups on the go, as is one of its claims. However, I do find that it soaks up a lot of the product. A plus for this concealer is that it’s very easy to blend. Yet, a minus is that it fades away within a couple of hours. Hardly a product that can keep up with my face. I need durability with my makeup, something that is long-wearing and full coverage.
Now that I have another concealer, I find myself reaching for the Lasting Finish Breathable Concealer less and less. Would I reach for this again? Probably not. Although if you’re looking something lightweight and travel-friendly, it’s the one for you.
See you next time!
