“Something they’ll want,
something they’ll need,
something they’ll wear,
and something they’ll read”
Thinking of buying gifts for the women that I actually know is hard enough, let alone total strangers. If you’re just sat there thinking: “oh, I’ll just buy her some smelly shower stuff and some chocolates”, stop. No woman wants smelly shower stuff and chocolates for Christmas, ever. If we want some shower gel, bath bombs, and lotion, we’ll go out and buy some ourselves. To help us all think of useful and wanted gifts this Christmas, I’ve found a little rhyme.
Something they want
Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paint, Harvey Nichols £19
The makeup brand everyone and their mother are talking about. Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is the makeup brand for all skin types and tones. With a debut launch of 40 different foundation shades, there literally is something for everyone. The latest star to come from the line is the new Stunna lip paint. A perfect red that suits all complexions without look garish.
Something they need
Tefal ActiFry Low Fat Fryer, Amazon £99*
“everyone should learn to cook because neither feminism or sexism will feed you when you’re hungry” Never a truer word said. However, with a Tefal Actifry can you really call it cooking? It’s just so easy, you kind of feel like you’re cheating. I can’t imagine life without mine now. I can’t remember the last time I bought frozen chips. I peel, chop and “fry”. Sometimes, I throw in a couple of frozen sausages and it’s ready in 30 minutes.
Something they’ll wear
Personalised Charcoal To Stone Checked Blanket Scarf, The Forest & Co £31.20
Is it just me, or does this scarf cream bougie cosiness? The price on the website is only for the plain scarf. However, the price I’ve given is if you have the embroidery and elegant gift box. I can say with absolute certainty that if Father Christmas left this under my tree, I would wear this every day. What’s more perfect than personalised gifts?
Something they’ll read
Silk by Penny Jordan, Amazon £6.99
A few years ago I had a book token for WHSmith. I randomly picked up this doorstop of a book without a second thought. One night whilst having one of my long baths, I decided to give this a try. It has since become one of my all-time favourites. If you like Downtown Abbey, you’ll love Silk. It’s the first in a series following a high society family in the early 20th century. In the series we follow the main protagonist throughout her life, seeing all of her highs and lows, loves and loses. Definitely an underrated treasure.
There you have it, my gift guide for the women in your life. Do you have any suggestions? Make sure you come back tomorrow for another post of Blogmas.
