If you follow me on Instagram, you would have noticed my recent purchase of the Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation shade True Ivory.
I was buzzing like the Beyhive when someone slams Beyonce on Twitter! I had found my perfect shade that matches and blends perfectly.
BEWARE! POST CONTAINS IMAGE OF TRADITIONAL VENTRILOQUIST DOLL! view at discretion.
Because I have had success with the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer and this foundation was a part of the “Stay Matte” range I obviously thought this was going to be foundation from the gods. Oh how wrong I was.
I had a lot of expectations for how matte this would stay throughout the day, my previous and current foundation L’Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Foundation has set the bar pretty high. By the end of breakfast at 10.30am my brow was sweating!
I felt disgusting, I was constantly blotting my face and the amount of product that was coming off was shocking! When I caught myself in the coffee machine reflection light and shine was practically beaming from my forehead, cheeks and chin.
The worst part of the ordeal was when I was on my break I was laughing at something on my phone, probably Snapchat Stories, I look up and in the mirror I saw two massive crease lines! I looked like a ventriloquist doll!
I wish I took a picture but I was so horrified I just wiped the whole thing off. I spent the rest of my shift moaning about how disappointed I was and annoyed my colleagues, and customers, and the customer service team at my local ASDA when I took it back and got a refund.
I would not buy this product again, nor would I recommend it for someone looking for a long lasting matte foundation.
Sorry Rimmel, don’t hate me. I still love you!
